New Era Cap has been named the Official On-Field Cap of Major League Soccer and will now design and distribute headwear and apparel for all 30 MLS clubs, including San Diego FC, which debuted in 2025. This multi-year agreement comes as soccer’s popularity continues to surge in North America ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Tim Shanahan, senior director of licensed products at New Era Cap, noted that the partnership “aims to accelerate the sport’s momentum and bring added attention to the outstanding talent and unique experiences that MLS clubs are delivering every single match.” He added that New Era is committed to supporting fans, athletes and coaches with products designed for every memorable goal, hard-fought tackle and trophy celebration.
Rachel Hoagland, MLS senior vice president of consumer products, said, “We are currently in one of the most exciting chapters in the history of our sport, and we are proud to welcome New Era Cap as the official on-field cap provider of MLS. This partnership will bring fans even closer to the players they love and deepen their connection to our league.”
Starting this summer, fans can expect new collections from New Era as part of the adidas x MLS Archive Collection as well as special releases for the MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup Final presented by Audi. Additional headwear and apparel for everyday wear will also be introduced. ’47, now part of New Era’s family of brands, will join in offering licensed products for MLS clubs.
As MLS enters its 30th season, this partnership comes amid a busy schedule for North American soccer, which includes hosting the Concacaf Gold Cup and FIFA Club World Cup in 2025, and co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup with Canada and Mexico.
