Pitaya Foods has launched the first-ever Regenerative & Organic Frozen Fruit Line, now available exclusively at Whole Foods Market locations across the U.S. Timed to coincide with Earth Day, the release includes three varieties: Regenerative & Organic Strawberries, Blueberries, and Mangoes. The new line is the first in the frozen fruit category to receive certification from Regenified, a land verification and product certification program that emphasizes outcomes in soil health, biodiversity, and sustainability.

Each product in the line is USDA Organic, made with 100% fruit, non-GMO, and free of synthetic pesticides. The fruits are harvested at peak ripeness and flash-frozen to preserve flavor and texture. According to Pitaya Foods, regenerative farming practices lead to healthier soil, which in turn produces more nutrient-dense and naturally sweeter fruit.

Chuck Casano, CEO and co-founder of Pitaya Foods, stated that the company had been developing regenerative products for over a year before learning it aligned with an upcoming focus at Whole Foods Market. “Working closely with their team we developed this first-of-its-kind regeneratively raised line to provide high-quality, healthy, and delicious fruits for our customers that sets a new benchmark for sustainability and quality in our category,” said Casano.

Pitaya Foods sources fruit for this new line from over 277 acres of Certified Regenified land across three family farms. The Regenified certification uses a proprietary 6-3-4 Standard, evaluating 65 on-farm and lab-based metrics including water infiltration rates, soil organic matter, and biodiversity. The company is also working to improve an additional 681 acres of farmland in Chile and Peru using regenerative practices.

This initiative builds on Pitaya Foods’ broader sustainability goals, which include protecting land from deforestation, supporting organic certification for farms, and providing job opportunities, including employment for single mothers in Nicaragua. The brand’s portfolio spans frozen superfruit, smoothie bowls, pops, and now regenerative frozen fruit, reaching more than 15,000 retail locations and 5,000 food service outlets nationwide.

Salar Shemirani, CEO of Regenified, commented, “By empowering and recognizing farmers to restore soil health and ecosystem resilience—and measuring this impact over time—Pitaya Foods is setting a new example for the industry.”
