Norwex, a company recognized for its sustainable products, has announced a partnership with the Environmental Working Group (EWG) to obtain the EWG Verified mark for certain products. This certification is awarded to items that comply with EWG’s stringent criteria regarding safety, ingredient transparency, and sustainability, ensuring they are free from harmful chemicals and have passed a thorough evaluation.
Norwex has established itself as a leader in the clean product sector, as stated by Amy Cadora, Chief Brand and Mission Officer. The collaboration with EWG is seen as a logical progression in their commitment to providing scientifically backed products, particularly in the skin care category. The partnership aims to assist consumers in making informed decisions that contribute to personal and environmental health.
Several of Norwex’s popular skin care products have achieved EWG verification, including the Cleansing Facial Powder, Renewing Eye Cream, and Hydrating Moisturizer, with plans for additional product certifications in the future. These items are available for individual purchase or as part of the Essentials Skin Care Set.
Norwex has been a pioneer in sustainable practices for thirty years, maintaining a “No-No List” that prohibits over 2,700 harmful substances, which is regularly updated. The brand emphasizes its commitment to reducing toxins and waste, drawing on its Norwegian roots.
Aya Matsumoto, director of EWG Verified, noted the increasing consumer awareness regarding product ingredients. The EWG Verified mark assures consumers that the products meet high standards for health and transparency, a challenging certification to achieve due to the rigorous criteria involved. The EWG Verified program aims to connect brands that meet these standards with a large community of informed consumers.
