OpenTable has introduced Icons, a new city-specific feature within its platform designed to help diners discover and book the most sought-after restaurant tables. Icons provides an enhanced search experience by curating each city’s top dining spots and displaying the soonest available reservations.
To qualify as an OpenTable Icon, restaurants must meet various criteria, including earning recent MICHELIN stars, James Beard Foundation awards and nominations, receiving positive reviews from diners and critics, having celebrated chefs, and maintaining strong diner interest.
Debby Soo, CEO of OpenTable, emphasized that Icons makes it easy for diners to find and book tables at award-winning and popular restaurants. The service aims to improve the dining experience by simplifying the search process.
Icons is currently available in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, Toronto, and Washington, D.C., with Houston and New York City launching later this month. OpenTable plans to spotlight additional Icons throughout the year.
