Pollo Campero, a Guatemalan fast casual dining chain known for its flavorful chicken dishes, has announced the launch of two new fried chicken sandwiches: the Queso Bacon Chicken Sandwich and the Buffalo Slaw Chicken Sandwich. Starting May 7, these sandwiches will be available in all U.S. locations of the restaurant.

The Queso Bacon Chicken Sandwich is made with a hand-breaded, all-white-meat chicken fillet, topped with a new green chile queso and smoky bacon, served on a brioche bun. This combination aims to offer a rich and savory taste experience. Meanwhile, the Buffalo Slaw Chicken Sandwich combines the restaurant’s signature coleslaw with a tangy buffalo sauce, creating a zesty flavor profile.

Mark Younggren, Pollo Campero’s Research & Development Culinary Manager, stated that these new offerings are in line with consumer trends favoring flavor-rich and diverse menu items. He noted that these sandwiches are designed to elevate the dining experience with premium ingredients that introduce a novel culinary twist.

These sandwiches are priced starting at $6.90. They follow the introduction of Pollo Campero’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich in 2022 and its original Chicken Sandwich in 2021. Customers have the option to purchase the sandwiches individually or as part of a meal, which includes a choice of side dishes such as Sweet Plantains, Yuca Fries, or slow-roasted Campero Beans.
