Pop-Tarts is returning to the spotlight this summer with a limited-edition lineup celebrating the upcoming theatrical release of Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps, hitting theaters July 25. Leading the release is the return of a cult favorite—Frosted Blue Raspberry—toaster pastries, back on shelves for the first time in six years.
The special edition pastries will be available exclusively at Walmart starting June 9, with additional themed flavors rolling out at grocery retailers nationwide. The collaboration between Pop-Tarts and Marvel Studios nods to both brands’ 1960s roots and taps into fan nostalgia with a collectible snacking experience.
Frosted Blue Raspberry features a tangy, fruity blue raspberry filling and gooey center, paired with eight unique printed frosting designs inspired by the Fantastic Four team and their superpowers. Themed prints will also appear on boxes of Frosted Strawberry, Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon, and Frosted S’mores.
“This partnership is a celebration of our shared origins,” said Leslie Serro, vice president of marketing for Pop-Tarts. “There’s no better way to welcome Marvel’s first family to the big screen than with the triumphant return of our fantastically blue toaster pastry.”
The limited-edition boxes will retail for $3.89 (8-count) while supplies last. As an added bonus, fans who purchase $10 worth of participating Pop-Tarts flavors can receive a $5 Fandango Movie Reward toward a ticket to The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
