The U.S. Postal Service has opened voting for its first-ever Stamp Encore Contest, inviting the public to help choose one of 25 beloved stamp panes for reissue in the 2026 program. The initiative ties into the USPS’s own 250th anniversary next year as well as America’s semiquincentennial celebrations.
Among the selections up for revival are fan favorites such as the Bioluminescent Life pane (2018), the Art of Disney: Magic series (2007), the Emancipation Proclamation issue (2013) and the Transcontinental Railroad pane (2019). Voters may cast ballots online at stampsforever.com/vote or download and mail in a paper entry; there is no limit to the number of votes per person.
Voting runs through September 30. The Postal Service plans to unveil the winning design in May 2026 during Boston 2026 World Expo festivities. Until then, results are kept under wraps to build anticipation.
“Stamp Encore gives collectors and everyday mail users alike the chance to bring back a design that holds special meaning or simply sparks joy,” said David Steiner, Postmaster General. “We are proud to share this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as we mark 250 years of service and look forward to America’s big anniversary.”
Full contest rules and ballot instructions are available at stampsforever.com/vote. Voters can revisit postal history while determining which stamp will reenter circulation next year.
