Radico Khaitan Limited has announced the launch of Ankahi Zaffran Spiced Liqueur, which is the inaugural product in the Ankahi Liqueur series. This liqueur will be introduced at ProWein 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany, scheduled for March 16 to 18. The product will be available in two sizes: a 1-liter bottle for Global Travel Retail and a 700-milliliter bottle for the global market. Distribution is set to commence in April 2025, targeting key markets in the USA, Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East, and will be found at major liquor retailers and duty-free shops.
According to Mr. Sanjeev Banga, President of International Business at Radico Khaitan, the introduction of this liqueur is part of their vision to showcase India’s heritage globally. He stated, “Our vision is to take India to the world and share the hidden and forgotten gems of India with the global audience.” The liqueur is crafted using saffron from Kashmir, combined with 21 handpicked herbs, resulting in a complex flavor profile that reflects India’s rich botanical heritage.
The name Ankahi translates to “untold,” symbolizing the discovery of India’s hidden herbal treasures. The design of the bottle is meant to represent the unveiling of these secrets. Mr. Kunal Madan, Senior Vice President of International Business at Radico Khaitan, emphasized that the liqueur is intended to provide a unique sensory experience that embodies the culture and traditions of India.
The tasting notes of Ankahi Zaffran Spiced Liqueur include a floral aroma of saffron, complemented by spices such as cinnamon and cardamom, alongside herbal hints from mint and coriander. The flavor profile features bold saffron, warm spices, and a gentle sweetness, culminating in a smooth and lingering finish that highlights the herbal richness. This product aims to present an authentic taste of India to the global market.
