Rudi’s Rocky Mountain Bakery has announced the launch of its latest product, Sandos, which are now available at Whole Foods Market. The Sandos come in two varieties: Peanut Butter & Strawberry Spread and Peanut-Free & Grape Spread. These portable sandwiches are designed to provide a convenient, nutritious option for consumers seeking clean-ingredient products.
Developed by Rudi’s Chief Innovation and Strategy Officer, Justin Gold, Sandos aim to fill a market gap for portable PB&J sandwiches made with wholesome ingredients. Gold, who joined Rudi’s in September 2023, previously led Justin’s Nut Butters and focused on creating nutritious, additive-free products. Recognizing the need for peanut-free options due to food allergies, Rudi’s has included a nut-free version using Voyage Roasted Seed Spread.
Rudi’s Sandos feature clean ingredients, including Rudi’s Organic Bread, Peanut Butter or Seed Spread, and organic fruit spread. Each sandwich provides 9 to 11 grams of protein and is made with more fruit and less sugar compared to traditional jams or jellies. The nut-free Sandos are suitable for school and airplane settings, and all varieties offer a portable option for summer road trips, snacks, and workouts.
Jane Miller, CEO of Rudi’s, expressed enthusiasm for the new product, highlighting its real ingredients and appeal to parents seeking safe, peanut-free lunch options. Sandos join Rudi’s other convenience foods, such as Texas Toast and Breakfast Sandwiches, available in the freezer section.
Rudi’s Sandos are available for purchase at Whole Foods Market locations in-store and online nationwide. The Peanut Butter & Strawberry Spread variety is priced at $8.99, and the Peanut-Free & Grape Spread variety is priced at $9.99.
