Samsonite is expanding its sustainability efforts with the launch of two new limited-edition circular collections, ESSENS Circular and PROXIS Circular. Both collections feature the brand’s first-ever Digital Product Passports, giving customers greater transparency into material origins, sustainable practices, and regulatory compliance.
The new collections build on Samsonite’s previous work using recycled materials. The ESSENS Circular line is made from at least 35% pre-owned recycled suitcases and recycled polymers, totaling at least 80% recycled materials in the outer shells and 70% overall by weight. The PROXIS Circular collection incorporates bio-circular materials, including shells produced with used cooking oil via the ISCC mass balance approach. It also uses 85% post-consumer recycled materials for the pull handle and 100% recycled PET for the interior lining.
“These new limited collections reflect our company’s commitment to continually innovating our products to help move the world forward,” said Kyle Gendreau, Samsonite’s CEO.
Both collections are made in Europe and are part of Samsonite’s larger “Our Responsible Journey” global sustainability strategy. The PROXIS Circular line has earned ISCC PLUS certification, further reinforcing the brand’s move toward more sustainable travel solutions.
