QDOBA Mexican Eats will reintroduce its Habanero Lime Steak on June 17, answering months of customer requests for the limited-time protein first offered last summer. The returning item features tender, flame-grilled steak tossed with a fiery habanero sauce, lime juice, and fresh cilantro, then sautéed in-house over an open flame to deliver what the chain calls “the perfect hit of heat.”
Kim Zamir, QDOBA’s vice president of marketing, said the company received “an overwhelming number of fan requests” after the initial run and views the steak’s blend of spice and citrus as a way to keep guests engaged with customizable menu options. Diners can add the protein to bowls, burritos, tacos, nachos, or other entrées and, as with all orders at the fast-casual brand, top their meals with complimentary guacamole or queso.
The steak will be available for a limited period at participating QDOBA locations across the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico. Customers can order in restaurants, online, or through the QDOBA mobile app for pickup or delivery. The company did not specify an end date for the promotion.
Founded in 1995, QDOBA operates more than 750 restaurants and markets its menu around “flavorful, chef-crafted” ingredients. The Habanero Lime Steak joins a rotating lineup of seasonal proteins and sauces aimed at distinguishing the chain in the competitive Mexican fast-casual segment.
