Stasher, known for its reusable food storage solutions, has announced the introduction of its latest product, Stretch Lids. This innovation marks the company’s most significant advancement since 2016. Stretch Lids are designed as a reusable alternative to plastic wrap, capable of securing and sealing around various objects of different sizes and materials.
Available in four distinct sizes, Stretch Lids are constructed from high-quality transparent silicone, allowing users to easily identify contents. The introduction of these lids comes in response to the increasing environmental concerns surrounding plastic use. Since the 1950s, plastic production has surged dramatically, with Americans reportedly using enough plastic wrap annually to cover the entire state of Texas. Stretch Lids aim to provide a sustainable solution to reduce reliance on single-use plastics.
Angelo Carpinelli, Senior Director of Product Development & Industrial Design at Stasher, commented on the launch, stating, “After years of development and testing, we’re excited to introduce Stretch Lids and expand our offering of reusable alternatives to another type of single-use plastic in the kitchen.” He emphasized the product’s high-quality materials, durability, and versatility.
The features of Stasher Stretch Lids include a balance of elasticity and durability, allowing them to stretch significantly while maintaining their shape. They have been designed for ergonomic use, with full-perimeter coverage and a grabbable lip for easy sealing. The interior walls are textured to prevent leaks and enhance grip on various surfaces, including glass and wood. These lids are also microwave and oven safe up to 425°F, and they can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
Stasher Stretch Lids are available in sizes of 2.5″, 4.0″, 6.5″, and 9.0″, catering to a range of containers and food items. They will be sold in three different bundles, starting with a Variety Pack priced at $19.99, available on the Stasher website and Amazon. Additional bundles will be released on March 25, 2025.
Accompanying this product launch, Stasher has introduced a new tagline, “Life with Less Plastic,” to emphasize the impact of reducing single-use plastics. The brand also unveiled a new logo featuring two circular arrows symbolizing the reusability of its products. Hilary McGuigan, Vice President of Marketing at Stasher, remarked, “Both Stretch Lids and our new tagline represent Stasher’s continued evolution as a brand.” She reiterated the company’s commitment to promoting sustainable practices among consumers.
