Suntory Holdings will expand its U.S. ready-to-drink lineup later this month with the MARU-HI Variety Pack, a 12-can case that bundles all four flavors of the Japanese-inspired sparkling cocktail brand. The pack—three cans each of Traditional Citrus, Strawberry, Pineapple, and Kiwi—marks Suntory’s first multi-flavor offering since MARU-HI hit American shelves in January.
At 5 percent alcohol by volume, each 12-ounce can delivers about 128 calories and fewer than eight grams of carbohydrates, positioning the malt-based beverage squarely against major hard-seltzer labels. Suntory has priced the variety pack at roughly 21 dollars and 99 cents, in line with leading 12-packs in the category. Distribution begins in late June across California retail channels and e-commerce platforms, followed by a July rollout in Hawaii. Single-flavor six-packs, 12-packs, and 24-ounce singles will continue.
MARU-HI adapts Japan’s popular bar staple, Chu-hi, for U.S. palates with lightly sweet, carbonated profiles. The brand’s flavor roster spans a lemon-lime Traditional Citrus; a berry-forward Strawberry; a tropical Pineapple inspired by southern Japan; and a sweet-tart Kiwi, the newest addition to many Tokyo izakayas. By combining all four in one carton, Suntory aims to simplify trial for new consumers and provide an “easy share” option for gatherings such as barbecues and beach outings.
The launch supports Suntory’s broader ambition to become the world’s leading ready-to-drink company by 2030—an initiative that includes internationalizing Japanese drink formats while keeping calorie counts and portion sizes in step with American wellness trends.
