Global electronics company TCL has introduced the D2 Series Smart Locks, led by the D2 Pro Palm Vein Smart Lock. The new lineup follows the first-generation D1 Pro, released in early 2025, and adds biometric options intended to improve speed and security while keeping all user data on the device.
The D2 Pro uses an AI-based palm vein sensor that TCL says achieves 99.9999 percent matching accuracy in laboratory testing. The company reports an average unlock time of 0.3 seconds and states that performance is not affected by moisture, dirt, lighting, or temperature.
According to TCL, biometric templates and access logs are stored only inside the lock hardware, with no cloud transmission. The companion app allows owners to issue temporary PINs or share QR codes, and to assign different permission levels to family members, friends, or service providers.
Power is supplied by a built-in 10,000 mAh battery that, by TCL’s estimate, can run for about 240 days on a charge. Low-battery warnings appear on the lock and in the mobile app, and a USB-C port can provide emergency power. All three locks—D2 Pro, D2 Plus, and D2—connect to the TCL Home Security App, support real-time notifications, and work with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control.
In the United States, the D2 Pro is priced at $169.99, the fingerprint-based D2 Plus at $119.99, and the PIN-focused D2 at $79.99. TCL says the products are available now through major online retailers.
