Tennessee Tourism, in partnership with Dollywood’s Dolly Parton, has introduced the Tennessee Playcation Kid’s Guide, a travel resource designed to engage children and families in planning their ideal Tennessee vacation. Available for pre-order at DollyPlaycation.com, the 90-page guide includes various kid-focused activities and encourages families to explore the state’s attractions, with the guide arriving in mailboxes by November 25.
As part of the initiative, ten Butterfly Tickets will be randomly inserted into guides mailed to families. These tickets grant winners a VIP experience at Dollywood, set to coincide with the theme park’s 2025 season opening, marking its 40th year. The package for each ticket includes a two-night stay for four at a Dollywood luxury resort, season passes, an activity pass for Pigeon Forge attractions, and a signed guitar inspired by Dolly Parton.
The Playcation campaign, first introduced in 2023, aims to foster a year-round interest in travel and family engagement in trip planning. The guide, accessible for free pre-order starting October 29, is also available upon request at TNvacation.com, with more than 250,000 copies being distributed. It highlights over 45 family-oriented attractions in Tennessee, including Dollywood, the Memphis Zoo, the Tennessee Aquarium, and the Grand Ole Opry. Children may also submit artwork for a chance to be featured on a Tennessee-sponsored billboard, adding an interactive component to the guide.
By providing an array of travel ideas and resources, the Tennessee Playcation Kid’s Guide offers an organized approach to family travel planning, encouraging children’s active involvement in designing their vacations.
