Uglies Kettle Chips is celebrating Upcycling Month in June by inviting fans to share their experiences of turning something “ugly into something beautiful” on social media. This initiative offers participants the chance to win a year’s supply of Uglies Kettle Chips. The campaign encourages fans to join the conversation on Instagram by sharing their upcycling stories.
As a division of Dieffenbach’s Potato Chips Inc., Uglies Kettle Chips is dedicated to reducing waste, supporting farmers, and combating hunger by utilizing imperfect potatoes that would otherwise go to waste. The company notes that 26% of U.S. produce is discarded for cosmetic reasons, and Uglies aims to address this issue by transforming these potatoes into kettle-cooked chips. Additionally, Uglies donates 10% of its profits to VivaKids, a Pennsylvania-based charity focused on fighting global hunger.
National Upcycling Day falls on June 24, and this year, Uglies is celebrating the importance of upcycling throughout the entire month. Bob Zender, Director of Marketing at Uglies, emphasized the brand’s commitment to reducing food waste and supporting farmers. He expressed excitement about the Upcycling Month contest and the creative upcycling efforts from participants.
To enter the contest, fans need to visit the Uglies Instagram page @ugliessnacks and comment on the contest announcement post between June 1 and June 21. Winners will be announced on National Upcycling Day, June 24.
