U-tec, a company specializing in smart home solutions, is set to release its new ULTRALOQ Bolt smart Wi-Fi deadbolts series in the latter part of 2023. The company has scheduled a product launch event on October 3, 2023, in Santa Clara, California, where pricing and pre-sale details will be disclosed. The new series of smart locks will offer compatibility with major smart home systems such as Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Samsung SmartThings, and IFTTT. The locks will also feature built-in Wi-Fi connectivity and a battery life that can last up to one year.
The ULTRALOQ Bolt series will come in different variations to suit various user needs. For Apple users, the series includes the ULTRALOQ Bolt Fingerprint Edition, which is compatible with Apple HomeKit, and the Apple Home Key-enabled NFC Edition. These locks allow for unlocking via a phone or smartwatch, and they can function for up to five hours even if the iPhone battery is depleted.
Clark Ruan, U-tec’s Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, stated that the company aims to improve keyless entry experiences. The ULTRALOQ Bolt series can be integrated with other HomeKit-compatible devices through the Apple Home app. Additionally, a Matter-compatible edition of the ULTRALOQ Bolt is expected to be released in early 2024.
The new series also includes technological upgrades such as a 360-degree live fingerprint ID, a durable and weather-resistant keypad, and an auto-unlock function based on mobile geofencing technology. The locks have a LED battery indicator and a low battery warning feature. The deadbolt automatically locks when closed and sends a phone reminder if left unlocked. Installation requires only a screwdriver, with no need for wiring or drilling.
The ULTRALOQ Bolt series can be managed through the U-tec app, which allows users to check lock and door status, access records, and manage various access methods. U-tec also plans to expand its range of smart home products, including smart security cameras, lighting systems, switches, and plugs.
