Volvo Car USA has disclosed the pricing details for its new small premium electric SUV, the Volvo EX30. The vehicle was initially revealed in June in Milan, Italy, and it marks the fourth fully electric model in Volvo’s lineup. The starting price for the EX30 is set at $34,950, positioning it competitively against internal combustion engine-powered SUVs in terms of cost.

The EX30 is described by Volvo’s design team as a condensed version of Volvo’s Scandinavian design ethos. Customers have the option to choose from five exterior colors: Moss Yellow, Cloud Blue, Vapour Grey, Crystal White, and Onyx Black. The interior of the vehicle features a minimalist Scandinavian design, utilizing natural and recycled leather-free materials. Four interior design themes—Mist, Pine, Indigo, and Breeze—are available, each complemented by one of five ambient light themes inspired by Swedish landscapes.

In terms of safety features, the EX30 is equipped with various radars, cameras, and ultrasonic sensors. It includes standard safety features such as a Driver Alert System, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Door Opening Alert, and Front & Rear Collision Mitigation. The vehicle is also designed to have a low carbon dioxide footprint, aligning with Volvo’s goal to become a fully electric car company by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.

The EX30 comes with Google built-in, featuring native Google Maps and Google Assistant, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay. Upgrades are available through the Plus and Ultra equipment levels, which offer additional features like Harman Kardon Premium Sound, a dual-tone panoramic roof, and advanced safety features including the next generation of Pilot Assist with Lane Change Assistance, 360 Camera with 3D View, and Park Pilot Assist.

Two electric propulsion options are available for the EX30. The Single Motor Extended Range variant offers up to 275 miles of EPA estimated range and comes in three equipment levels: Core, Plus, and Ultra, with starting prices excluding destination charges at $34,950, $38,900, and $40,600 respectively. The Twin Motor Performance variant is the fastest accelerating Volvo car to date, with a 0-60 mph time of 3.4 seconds. Its starting prices are $44,900 for the Plus level and $46,600 for the Ultra level.

Pre-orders for the EX30 will open later this fall, and deliveries are expected to begin in the first half of next year. For more information, customers can visit Volvo’s website or contact their local retailer.
